Why did the chicken cross the road?........to get to Period Features!

We have stopped traffic outside the shop this week with a lovely new product from Holland. The cast iron head, wings, tail and feet come ready spiked for creating a wonderful pumpkin animal. Our fine fat pumpkin hen looks great on our door step and we look forward to using other vegetables after the witching hour!

The Best Dressed Guy

In last weeks blog I mentioned Guy Fawkes. Well, we have a rather splendid one in our window at the moment. Unfortunately, the 'splendid' clothes he is wearing belong to my husband Jonathan who, is getting a little tired of the jokes! Not to mention the fact he wants his clothes back.........to wear!

Early Jingle Bells

The big debate amongst staff this week is when do we start Christmas? Halloween has yet to arrive and poor Guy Fawkes has not met his match yet! We don't want to get caught up in the retail cynicism that see hot cross buns hit the supermarket shelves on boxing day. However, we compete in a tough market place and cannot afford to miss a sale. Our beautiful advent calenders are discreetly displayed but our fruit garlands are still in the attic! What do you think?
